Does anyone have recommendations for an accountant (CPA)? I feel like word-of-mouth is going to be better than all the googling I’ve been doing. I’m open to having an accountant not in the state I live in, but preferably east coast. My last accountant was not great and super unresponsive (Google was not helpful even though they had great reviews...) Why would you ever want to rollover your 401K into an IRA? It seems like doing so would essentially prevent you from successfully being able to do a IRA to Backdoor Roth IRA conversion due to the pro-rata rule. Am I missing something? Wouldn’t you always want to just rollover your old 401Ks to your new 401K?

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck. We’re both 36 and currently rent a 2 bedroom in NY and have a combined savings of $35,000 which she wants to use as a down payment on a condo. I kinda just wanna continue saving while renting. I also literally just started contributing to my 401K so I’m also late in the game for that too.

If I’m contributing to my Roth 401k vs pretax 401k and my employer matches 10% of my contributions. My employer match be 10% on my post tax contributions right? Technically meaning I’ll be getting less of my 10% employer match then if I were to do pretax 401k since that match would be on a higher amount?

If you invest ur HSA funds into stocks, do they get taxed upon selling? I know they grow tax free. But if I sell them and not make any withdrawals, wud I be taxed?
