WHOA. I agree with you. Kind of crazy that they actually said that to you. What kind of world are we living in?
Right? They said it so casually too – like it was normal. It makes you wonder how many decisions like this get brushed off without question. Would they have said the same thing if the roles were reversed?

Oh my! That’s wild. Everyone should be treated and rewarded the exact same, no matter on gender or how competent you are.
Exactly. Competence should speak louder than confidence, but too often it feels like the louder voice wins. We need to stop treating women’s experience as something that still needs “proving.”
It might not be the bigger picture. He might be a better fit as he has the charisma and people skills. They might be looking for someone louder rather then reserved.
True, sometimes it is less about output and more about personality fit. If a role values visibility and energy, charisma can outweigh quiet consistency, even if it feels unfair.
