Taking a break just means you’ll pay for it tenfold when you get back. Which is why I just don't. Not the best way to live life, but I try my best to avoid situations that I hate for myself. How do you all dig out from under the avalanche without losing your minds?
Take a break
"why does it feel like the entire hiring process just hit pause the minute I logged off?!" Honest answer: because it probably did. Some employees take their foot off the gas as soon as the boss is gone.
I try to set myself up for success before and after a vacation. Sometimes there is no avoiding it. I’m still going to take my vacations, though, and just get through the work when I get back.
Of course that's what is going to happen. You have to set things up in advance and make sure people know what they have to do so that nothing piles up or falls through the cracks. Live and learn, next time you take off leave behind an action plan so things can keep moving along.
No matter how prepared I leave my team for my holiday, it never fails that nothing moves in that timeframe :/ at least not significantly. And then if they do half a thing they talk about it for weeks 😂😂 like brah you sent ONE email and downloaded a doc from DocuSign. Calm tf down LOL! 😂
