Applied for Corp Strat role with one of the largest independent financial brokers / advisers firms in the US. What do you think I can expect in the interview process? Never interviewed for such roles and that too, for a financial services firm that plays in the financial advisory / investment management space. Pleas help!!!
ACN 🐠, are you currently having your yearly performance review, and does that impact hiring? I am in the interview process with ACN, had two interviews, both went well based on the feedback I received, was expecting a third meeting, that was more than a week ago, still have not heard back. Was wondering if hiring was put on hold
Why don't I get any calls from the other big 4s. I've tried applying through naukri, linkedIn, referrals. Not even a single call. And here I thought I had a demanding skill set!
Has anyone pursued a different position while waiting for headcount after completing a final round interview? If so, will interviewing for another role increase my chances since I was the "2nd choice" or will I need to start over from stratch with an initial interview?
How much do you pay attention to the requirements in a job description? If it says you need 10 years experience in ‘X’ and you have 6 years, does it deter you from applying? If you are on the hiring side, how strict are you normally regarding these requirements?
Can someone give me a bit of encouragement? Currently in on-cycle, interviewed for 3 firms, all told me “nay”
Hi Everyone, I have a second-round interview which is most likely a case study round for 165 minutes with EY Parthenon. Any tips and guidance, its for TSE (IT)
Just got turned down by Amazon after two extensive writing assignments, 6 interviews and hours spent preparing. And their policy doesn’t allow them to give feedback when an offer is not made. Talk about a bruised ego. The only silver lining is staying long enough to collect the October and January big law bonuses and then I’m out! The question is where else pays like Amazon?!
ZS fish - when applying, do you actually provide your salary history from the past 5 years? The application says proof of income will be requested during the interview process. This seems very odd so looking for guidance. Thanks!
Hi all, I was a civil Engineer earlier and was laid off facing the Covid brunt and have upgraded to Data Science now, actively looking for a job to support my family. So if anyone can help or give leads it would be grateful to help support my family. Please please 🙏🏼
Hi everyone, hope you are doing well. I applied to BCG and received an email from them telling me I was on the waitlist for interviews. What is the chances of getting an interview if I am on the waitlist? I am not well connected with BCGers, any recommendations on who to contact? Do any one of you think they can help me or connect me to someone willing to help from the inside? I applied to Atlanta, Boston, and Miami. I am on a F1 visa which makes things harder, MBB being kind of my only options.
I have had a rough 2 weeks. I was ghosted by the guy I was seeing for 7 months and then today I was laid off from my agency due to them losing clients and not doing well financially. I just feel so
There is truly nothing like going through the shock of layoffs and then seeing your closest coworkers still here at the end of the day. Hold you peeps close today folks ❤️ 😔
ZS folks, what do I expect in the first round of interviews at ZS which is supposed to be a technical deep dive? The role would be business technology solutions associate consultant. Will it be a resume walkthrough with technical details around how I implemented some of the projects mentioned therein? Thanks for your time 😊
How do you know if you’re in the hot seat/might get fired or if it’s just paranoia? I feel constantly on edge...
Are you able to request to interview on campus a different day/earlier than the two dates they offer you?
Quick! Laid off. What are the first five things I do? I will take comical and practical advice
Folks who have gotten jobs with consulting firms through recruiting agencies… would you recommend going through the agency or just applying directly to the consulting firm?
I have an interview with a big tech firm very soon. I’m in an awkward beard growth stage and kinda look like crap but not really, do y’all think it’ll affect anything?
Given the news of BB losing Ford as a client, not sure if I can make a case for holding my 1k shares for the long run. Anyone have any real bull thesis that’s not just rockets? I’m considering just dumping my BB into MGNI/DKNG to bolster my winners there
Need recommendations for a good mattress that will last 5-10 years and make me sleep like a baby. Budget is max 3-4k. Thoughts?
Any copywriters here working for Apple? Currently considering a role and keen to hear about any and everything - culture, WLB, comp etc
Our industry needs to change the way it does recruiting. We make it impossible for people to apply directly to agencies. Relying on employee referrals gets good "culture fits" at the cost of diversity
Can anyone please share the comp package of senior accountant/FA role at Amazon at Seattle for recent offers.
Not in IB or ER, but I have to ask (per CFA study), how common is it to run in to troublesome pension accounting issues? It seems like most companies have/are going the way of DC plans and away frm DB
Let’s pretend we’re holding companies. I’ll start: No, we can’t hire an extra writer even though you’re clocking 70+ hours a week. BTW, our contract with your client caps billable hours per employee because they know we don’t pay overtime. Here’s a non-billable code you should start using for the rest of the year.
Just came across this great resource: How to design with intentionality and inclusivity https://chetnetwork.com/pathway/how-to-design-with-intention-and-inclusion?utm_source=Reddit&utm_medium=Post&utm_campaign=productdesign_divyamicrocourse
Anybody US-based who relocated to Canada to renew their L1 visa? How long did you have to stay there? Thanks!
Anyone in LA and have any tips/insights on how to get connected here? I moved here last year so still pretty new and have had limited opportunities to connect with others due to covid. It seems in both my dating life (F dating M) and trying to make friends (any gender!) people are very flaky. I’m wondering if there are places, groups, or just general tips I might not know of where people are more open and interested in making real connections. Any advice is welcome!
How do y’all DCA into ETFs? How often do you put money in and into what? I’m thinking VOO and VTI every 2 weeks. Thanks!
