So hear me out … I had a handful of parents mention how much of a struggle the afternoon routine was going after their children got off the bus - not necessarily asking for advice but just telling me how it was going for them when I would call to check in. I made them some after school checklists that were blank so parents could just fill them in and use the same successful routine that we do at school and I got some good feedback! I honestly might have ADHD myself so I figured i make checklists at school all the time, just try it at home. I just like made a list on my phone called “when you get home” and I dedicate 15 minutes every morning to making it and I check it off every day when I get home. When I finish the checklist I reward myself with a show or reading a little or mindless scrolling or a workout! It works so well except for every single time something unexpected pops up right after school 😂
^This is exactly what I would suggest. This poster is too modest to say, but this is an excellent example of time management skills. Make the plan, plan to work!
Close your door and set a timer to work. I make myself do this 3 days a week. It’s amazing how much I can get done in 30 uninterrupted minutes
Maybe you are just distracted. You spend more time planning on how tot about the tasks rather than actually start ding something then figure out the rest. It's completely valid. Sometimes it's due to anxiety and stress. Take deep breaths and make a planner for everything.
I shifted to using Schoology for most assignments and it has made things easier for me. I also don't nit pick every assignment rather I ask myself if they got the purpose or not. I actually allow my students to resubmit assignments which I thought would cause me extra work, but now that they know I won't accept work without the thinking they pause before submitting that stuff.

I try to keep grading down as it is turned in. I feel less stressed. Friday is my day to get everything set for the ne t week. I have found it less stressful, and the rest of my weekend is mine and my family's.
