My mentor mentioned that as more people will leave the region, whoever will remain will get better exponential growth opportunities for taking risk of staying in unstable region. Not 100% sure though if I’d want to stay. I can’t call Dubai home anymore… if i stay I’ll only think of myself as a temporary immigrant.

Spot on. All the folks who took those flights just created pockets for others to rise into
People who are saying that this will bolster consulting due to defense projects or higher oil prices are delusional.
Dubai's image of a safe haven is simply broken. No, i am not saying everyone sees Dubai and Beirut at the same level, but it used to be unthinkable that missiles and drones would kill civilians in the UAE. This will have an impact on tourism and real-estate.
Oil is crazy high precisely because gulf countries can not sell their oil, they aren't benefitting from this expect for small amounts that don't go through the strait. The moment the war stops, US will put crazy pressure on them to bring the price down again. There is no scenario they will make a windfall from this.
Truth is that what happens to UAE depends on what happens to Iran. If it becomes a protracted war or if US/Israel don't manage a regime change, the damage to the UAE/qatar will be felt. This can even derail neom.
The only good scenario is if irans regime is overthrown shortly, which doesn't seem to be the case.

The war will only end if Iran accepts Israel and US hegemony- which automatically implies peace in Dubai…. Imo much better scenario for future growth.
Taking a flight to somewhere safe, doesnt mean we left the region. We will stay somewhere safe for couple of weeks until situation stabilizes. Meanwhile we will continue to WFH.
First of all, our company allows 22-30days WFH without any tax issues or consequences.
Second until the end of Eid, we are WFH. I have almost 3 weeks. During this period if everything turns back to normal, I can come back safely. If firm insist for me come back, I can easily take a flight.
I dont understand what is the difference between working from a room in UAE or in any country?
- Oil drops to $70-75 and stabilize.
- Massive spending on defense and allied manufacturing sector as they would want to move from USA security.
- UAE will come out fine due to diversification of its economy. Saudi will have trouble due to its reliant on oil and would need aggressive ramp up.
- Priorities changes of leadership of the country and hence we have K shape consulting opportunities- some areas massive shoots up and some dies down.
