First thing that comes to mind would be to check your contract. Sometimes agencies test a new agent with a low base before bumping you up with commission tiers. If that's not the case, then yes, you are being underpaid. Even at six months you could say you've gotten through the hardest part of the learning curve, and being licensed so you can do "border crossing" business is an asset. You should look around and see if you can find a better situation.
Thank you for your insight. I appreciate you. To clarify, I've been with this agency for close to 3 years. Been licensed for 6months. I have no benefits or health insurance.
On the low end, even for a low-cost-of-living area. 28-40k is a typical base salary, and that’s with commissions and bonuses.

I’m curious to know how you’re surviving off of that amount until you get commission on top of that! Do you have another job?
It's just a base salary. I don't receive commissions. I am so new to this, I haven't fully understood how much I'm missing out on. Also my wife works, brings in about the same. We have to be frugal.
