Looking for officer advice. I've been headhunted for a role at BNP. Risk. Title promo to VP from director, and 30k on top of my current salary. I'm essentially confirmed for VP this year but don't know the bandings for a p4 VP, and have political capital here I don't want to burn.
As much as everyone here enjoys a moan, I like the firm, my peers and the culture.
I do feel like I'd be stupid to turn down a 30k bump and title bump though.
Has anyone been here, waited and it paid off for them?

Take the raise and leave. The political capital may still be there for another bump upwards if something opens up down the line.

Back office? You’re likely not getting $30k bump if you stay. Promo also not guaranteed

Agree with above. People tend to be disappointed with the bump they receive in promotion year

See if your current company will counter even if it’s not the same it could be enough to stay… also you can always leave and come back if you like the culture. I see people leave and come back to open arms all the time.

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

Boston SFA 5 years exp (Corporate finance). My research shows 110-120k for comp range. Does that sound right to others here?

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.
