@KPMG.. I am an SM and have a roommate 🙂..
I mean it normally goes without saying since we'd be roomies but some people these days...
It's just smarter to have a roommate until you buy your own place - especially in expensive places such as NYC
Although, I'm more qualified than BA1 and pretty much the same price
Sad world where managers for large and well paying employers need roommates
K1- clearly you don't live in NYC. Pretty common. I am too old for room mate now so moved to Queens. SM
And if you're single.. why not? You're not around most of the week anyway.. a nice roomie can look after your pet, look after your place, be company and lend a ear when you come home sad and dejected on Thursdays, help out with errands that you were not able to squeeze in during your weekend.. and you can use the extra cash and just travel more, buy stuff or do whatever..
Rental occupancy rates in NYC hover around 98-99% so they can get away with ridiculous rental prices causes this dependency on roommates... depends on the neighborhood, but it'll run you about $2k for a studio, $3-$3.5k for a 1 bedroom, $4.5-$5k for a 2bedroom... you of course can find cheaper places the further our from Manhattan you move.. but it ends up being a game of what are you willing to give up for it.
If you dont have a roommate so much of your pay would go to rent. Wouldn't leave enough to actually be able to go out and have fun in this crazy city or attempt to save
👩🏽⚖️ or 🤵🏽?
I have roomates and several tenants, they pay to watch my properties. Maybe I need to move up the ladder by working for KPMG 😒
I'm not knocking anyone! Just think it's ridiculous that this is the standard these days in NYC and SF. It's like you're doing everything right and are ostensibly among the more well off people income-wise in the whole country (and the world by extension), and you don't even get to have your own place. And I live in NYC (but with my GF)!
Manager 1 how much do you have to pay for your accommodation. I don't stay in nyc but I pay around 2 k in burbs.
What's the rent ? 20k ?
