Hey fishes, I’m 21M here. Class of 2020, 3.2 GPA from a top 20 target school for undergrad. I am 8 months into my first consulting job. What is the timeline for someone like myself? I managed to get some 2020 GMAT prep books but apart from that, I’m not really sure what the direction is. Do I just prep, practice, and take the test? I would like to apply for schools by 2024-2025. Thanks!
Anyone on here in organizational psychology consulting? I’ve been reading a lot of books in IO Psych. and would love to transition to that field. Currently in ERP consulting. If you could share how you got started and any advice for someone looking to go in that field (degrees/experiences/etc).

Friday thoughts on Strengths vs weaknesses: I have been told that I am solid in quant, but need development on the creative side of things - brainstorming, strategic frameworks, maybe even writing. If this situation can be improved, what should I do? books or videos or exercises? This doesn't seem easy to tackle at all... If this just reflects how I am like, does it mean I'm not fit for consulting in the longer haul (looking at SC, PM max)? Or perhaps I should focus on DD type of consulting?
What empowered women books, movies, podcasts, blogs do you read, watch, or listen to for consulting life survival and motivation? My recents are: HBR Women at Work, On the Basis of Sex, and Becoming.
Came from a developer background. What are some business books that can help me get better on the functional consulting side? Have nearly zero formal business education.

I'm looking to pivot from consulting into tech. I've gotten lots of interesting from tech companies on the ops side but am much more interested in product management. Any advice on books or courses to help make the transition? I'm struggling to land PM interviews at companies that aren't tiny startups :(
Walked thru my B-school library today...I noticed a "Consulting" section...it was just 20ish books but cool to see. I graduated in 2006. Were "consulting" related classes at your school?
For people in consulting - do you often read books about project management and motivation? Would appreciate your recommendations (preferably the ones with more than one thought for the whole brick of text 🤨).
Friend tested positive for covid… I was honestly annoyed more at the situation but now kind of annoyed at her bc she just is making the situation about herself when she is affecting everyone she could have exposed

Is it common for insurance companies to disallow legal research or cap the hours you can spend doing legal research? Do you think that capping the hours for research can breed bad attorneys or even worse lead to malpractice claims? Wouldn’t the insurance company have some liability if that happened?
Have offer at interesting late stage startup, 135k base 15k bonus and approx 20-25k in stock grants annually. Feels a bit on the low side but it's a decent raise in any case (7 years consulting xp plus MBA). Worth negotiating for 5-10k more in base?
Rolex Sub, Sea-dweller or Deep Sea? Haven’t tried the latter two in metal and concerned that 43mm and 44mm maybe too big for my wrist (7 inches). But love the last two more. Can I wear it at work?
My HR rep told me that to apply for your CPA license in MA you only need 1 year of work experience, not 2009 billable hours. Didn't sound right- can anyone confirm/deny?

Hello Fishes, there are few questions hitting to my mind about PWC AC, can you please help me clear this. 1. Benefits included and when does my eligibility start at PWC 2. Was hired into a company at a level that was more junior than my skills (Was out of work due to pandemic for a year). I’ve been at the company 5 months. We’re going through a reorg and my new position will really be leveraging my years of experience more so than other role. Is it appropriate to discuss a raise/adding senior to title? Or should I do the job and then prove myself then talk about raise. I have more experience than the senior members of my team. New leadership than when I was hired
I love this group. For those that receive company equity as part of their comp, what’s your strategy? Do you immediately sell it all and put the cash into index funds?

Hey team need some help - I’ve flown United since I was a child, and naturally I’ve flown with them through and through my consulting career. I just flew on Delta for the first time and it was so much nicer than what I’ve been used to. What’s loyalty like here at Delta - and is it worth status matching and becoming Delta loyal? NYC based if that makes any difference. TIA!!
Anyone know much about Sikich based in Chicago? Have an interview with them for a position in their business valuation and litigation advisory practice.
