You guys should really label your engagement farming posts as coming from Glassdoor itself
Those raises in the low single digits have become standard in the corporate world, not just in marketing. You're right that with prices rising, it's like we're slipping backwards. The only way to get a real raise is to move to another company, which can be difficult in the best of times. In this job market it's really a problem.
If you get a YOY salary increase, 3-5% is standard practice. Let’s say your midsized agency has 30-ish employees, that pencils out to 4.5-5 million in staff costs, taxes, benefits, etc. Any idea what profits were last year? Because it’s not always your performance that dictates the size of your raise, but also health of the agency.
I think that inflation is the cause for this, and in general, in this world, everything costs so much more, which is making companies guard their money more fiercely.
