Welcome to the industry
Don’t accept how shitty this industry can be as the “norm”. Last the last year inflation rate by the Bureau of Labor Statics was 2.18% alone. Make yourself heard, then bail if no actions follow
No. That’s why people find a new agency every 2-3 years.
That can happen. You have to be super annoying about it to get it. That being said as an AAE you should be promoted after 12-15 months
That’s a lie
For you, maybe. I’ve been on staff at 8 places. Got a single raise. At one of those agencies. It took 4 years. However, by changing jobs, I’ve gotten serious increases. By freelancing, earned a lot more annually.
Raises are few and far between. I get pay increases by jumping
Yes. Get out now. Switch to sales or the client side. Better income. Better benefits. Better work life balance. Better career planning
Annual raises are not a thing, but raises are a thing. It’s 100% at your boss’ discretion.
Go to a big shop. Annual raises are a thing.
Salaries were much better before the last recession. Once it hit and there were mass layoffs, agencies realized they could hire everyone back for about 30% less. It never really got better
