That's a hard reality for sure. What are you looking to do next? I knew someone who would change between jobs depending on the time of the year to get the most of the seasonal jobs.
Maybe getting back into the oilfield
That seems to be the case with just about every job these days. You've got to make as much as you can while you're lucky enough to have a job, because nothing seems to last. Hope you and everyone else in here is able to bounce back soon. Happy Memorial Day weekend all.

I have relatives who work in construction, and that's not an uncommon problem. The work can go boom or bust. And as people get older it can be a lot harder on them physically. But things tend to go in cycles, if someone can do the work, the work will turn up again.

Looking to get back into the oilfield
I have a couple friends that are iron workers and they have said the same thing. They make really great money and have great benefits but if you get laid off or there isn't work then that part really sucks. It seems to be hard to get hired on and stay at the same company forever.
