I’m not in the whole woke crowd, but I think this thread is going to devolve really quickly into lowbrow casual racism. So idk if this is a great idea

True
Agree with PwC above. “Exotic” is a dicey way to describe someone’s name (and often, relatedly, their culture). To a white American, every name from my culture would be probably be “exotic” because it’s unfamiliar. But to me, it’d be normal.
There is nothing exotic about Juan
Suqa Madiq
And his wife, Liqa Madiq
A female baby named Ho’nasty. Pronounced “Honesty”, but you know that kid will be teased.
No this is unfortunately all too real. Absurd names are the norm now in some places.
I tutored a girl named ABCDE, pronounced ab-suh-dee. Gotta give the mother points for creativity, but c’mon.. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️

WhatsApp forward, don’t know this person.
Are you trying to name your baby 🧐💕
Pls OP, if you are, do not give your child a unique name just to be different. The child has to live with it. I'm sick of correcting people about my name the first five times I meet them. Its not a name from my culture, it has no significance to my family, and it just makes the first part of a convo I have with every new person a little lesson in pronouncing or spelling my name. Its tiring, and my parents just did it to be unique, and honestly I think that's a little narcissistic to make naming your child about how you named a child something unique.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

L-A pronounced "ladasha"
Well, Founder 1, then the person who insists they know someone who knows someone who knows someone named “L-A” should just Google “Ladasha” and “racist urban legend” and do the footwork for themselves.
This Asian man who works with my husband decided to go by an “American” name at work. He chose Max. His last name is Dong. He thought it would be hilarious haha
This made me lol
