Yeh... wait till he throws a football at your nuts. 😂 then you will happily let him go back to mom.
Getting hugs at that age are the best. Same with a infant sleeping on you. It’s the best time to take a nap.

This is so sweet. Thanks for sharing 🥰
This is so great and just made my day. Thanks for sharing with us! 💖

Kids are always bit more inclined towards their mom. Dads are almost always secondary 😅. Yeah but they start appreciating their dads more as they grow.

My kid is into whomever is not in the room. If Mom isn't there it's all mommy mommy mommy. If I'm not there is all daddy daddy daddy.
Pro
Probably into the dogs at that point since they actively avoid her.

I have a daughter. I’ve never loved anything so much.
When she was a baby she always wanted her mom and didn’t want anything to do with me even though I tried to spend as much time with her as possible.
One time when she was about 1 year old, I had to travel from work for a week. That’s the longest time she’s gone without seeing me. When I got back she was in moms arms. I wanted to hold her so badly but didn’t want to force it on her. But then she leaned over and raised her arms out to me!!!
I took her into my arms and within seconds I was sobbing like a baby. To this day I am still puzzled why I cried that hard but the emotional hit was unexpected.
I have an 8 month old and really feel this. Took months after she was born for me and her to really connect given her (very necessary) attachment to mom.

Nope. Absolutely refused. And regularly gets on M-F at daycare. He went 14 hours yesterday between bottles the second one at 4am after crying for an hour.

My 3 year old is in a huge daddy phase right now. Like follows him everywhere, mimics him, insists on daddy books and snuggles at bedtime. Don’t worry, your dads will have your day.

When my daughter was roughly 6 months to 18months I was laid in during the housing crisis and became a stay at home dad. My wife also went through a bad case of postpartum depression. My daughter became very attached to me and followed me around all the time.
Follow-up:
He gave mommy a kiss this morning when she asked and when I asked he pushed my face and waved bye bye.
It was good while it lasted!

Been there. My 4 year old daughter after our newest edition was born became extremely attached to me begging to snuggle in our bed with me every night. My 2 year old go jealous and demanded the same so for 20min I would lay in the middle of my bed with two kids who lost time with mommy snuggled in on each side.
Then THE WIFE bought new pink sheets for my daughters bed and a big boy toddler bed for my son so we could transition his bed back to a crib. Now they could less about my existence again.
Did you have a travelling role pre COVID? Wondering if that has a bearing on it.

Awesome OP. That’s definitely a great feeling. I have three kids, and the favorite parent waxes and wanes with all of them. Mom, Dad, whoever is there, whoever isn’t, no one I’m fine.
In the current phase, my oldest a girl likes doing mom and dad stuff and flexes pretty easily between us, my middle girl is particularly affectionate with me, and my little man throws a nuclear tantrum bat shit crazy if he can’t have mom
The only real pattern we have noticed is that for the first 6-12 months after a younger sibling is born, the next youngest oldest becomes clingy with me (Dad). we think this is because his mom spends so much time with the baby, especially with breast-feeding, that creates a bit of a vacuum.

I love this. My son is so in love with his mom, and it’s so heartwarming when he comes to me for something.
My son is all about his dad. He’s become his primary care-giver, protector, fun friend etc. I barely get a look in as his mum but I understand. It’s tough but they are just so close
