Do any NYC pi atty’s need some remote help? I have ten yrs experience running a busy firm in Brooklyn but moved to sunny FL and have extra time (I highly recommend fleeing NY for anyone considering it).
I handled an active caseload of 500, predominantly MVA’s but also city slip/trip and fall cases.

I previously worked at a small Plaintiffs law firm (pre admission). At the time of hiring and throughout my employment, I was constantly told I would get paid referral fees for all cases which I referred. I did get money for some but the partner was SO bitter that I left that he has not paid me for 5+ cases which I referred. Has anyone experienced this? What can I do? This man owes me a substantial amount of money.

I’m a 3rd year Associate at a fairly large injury firm. In my 2nd year my individual fees were $550k, this year I’ll eclipse $800k and next year I have $1.5mm or more lined up. (That’s just cases I signed/closed myself)
I’m the sole associate in the office, and also handle most of the training/marketing/networking in my office. My salary isn’t 6 figures and no performance incentive. At what point is it fair to ask/is it unrealistic or unreasonable to ask for some small performance incentive?

Examples of cases you automatically decline to take? How do you determine?

I’m a first year big law associate in a major market. Leaving for two federal clerkships later this year. Plan was originally to go back to the firm but I honestly hate the work. Fine with the workload just can’t stand the cases and realize there’s no way I’ll ever get to be in trial. Is going plaintiffs side fresh off a stint in big law and a federal clerkship an option? Best way to find elite plaintiffs shops? Am I basically guaranteed a massive pay cut?

For Plaintiff's attorneys, how big is your caseload? What kind of cases are the majority of them and are they in suit? I am currently handling 150+ mostly MVAs and premise liability cases, just about all in suit, (on top of about 10 DUIs and other small traffic matters) and I feel like I'm drowning and looking to jump ship. As a new PI attorney I am having trouble pushing the ball forward on my cases. Not sure what the next step to take would be sometimes. Partners are not much help. Any resources out there that would help?

Does anyone like ID work? Currently doing work at a PI/Medmal plaintiffs firm while in school and trying to figure out where I’ll be happiest post-grad. I LOVE it, but don’t know if ID will provide more security. For context, I had a, albeit, short career prior to law school and will 30 when I graduate in May. Comp and WLB are important given my later start.
