So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Pair programming is a good thing. Since you effected, then you can talk with your manager to sort it in a different way.

I think it’s good in healthy doses
I was in this situation and felt the same way about it. A couple hours a week of pairing would have been fine with me, but all day every day was overbearing. I talked to my manager but that was the team's way of working and one engineer wasn't changing that. In the end I left for a new job.

We don’t pair program all day on my team but we huddle quite a lot to get each other moving forward on tasks
Let me know when you have an opening!!!
