I wouldn't worry too much about word choice in a meeting, some people are just loose with their language. However, if the person was really trying to take credit you should have found a way to chime in and make your contribution visible. In the end, of course, what matters is what's on paper and what you'll be paid. As long as you'll be getting your commission there's no need to worry too much about what someone said in a meeting. It's the money that really talks.
I’ve learned to speak up for myself in the moment. If someone says ‘I,’ I’ll just chime in with "Yes, we worked hard on that." It’s a subtle reminder without starting drama.
