Got it, thanks. I was looking around the used market and there are 2017 and even 2018 XC90s with <10k miles and 20k+ cheaper. I like the idea of having someone else pay the depreciation
Great deal!!
Ditto on the 3rd row. Tired of the old minivan, looking @ SUVs as well. Considering the Yukon, but looking at all.
Pathfinder,
I’ve owned both the Lexus GX and LX. I think they are great cars and both have a third row. They’re luxury vehicles and have the price tag but very reliable.
Volvo XC90 2018
Looked at the mdx and qx60 today. Both were a bit underwhelming. I checked the gl and rx-l and both were absurd. We used to have an rx when our eldest was a baby and loved it, but I think Lexus just isn’t in the family game. Hoping the xc90 impresses.
Wow ford wasn’t even on my radar. Would be nice to own an American car again (for the first time in 20 years??). I’ll check it out
Yes check it out. Buy American for sure. But don’t skimp. Go for the “sport” model. It’s a little pricier but it’s nice to have that extra power when you’ve got a packed car and you’re blasting the air conditioning in the summer. It also has sport tuned suspension, etc...
Land Rover discovery - better third row than q7 or XC90
We have a Volvo XC60. We looked at the 90, but figured we would use the 3rd row once a year when the grandparents visit. For the price difference we got fully loaded Inscription. It is amazing. And safe.
We have enjoyed our Buick Enclave for 9 years now and have been happy with the balance of having the third row but not driving like a truck. Just test drove the new Enclave Avenir and it is very nice.
Love my GMC Yukon
Infiniti QX56... bought pre-owned... love it
Likely getting the GMC Acadia
I have a Mazda CX-9. I’ve been really happy with it. First drove one as a rental car and then found myself buying one. Zoom zoom.
I second the Explorer Sport. Get with captain seats for easy access to the 3rd row by kids. It has more low end giddy up than my old X5 and I give less of a shit that the kids will ultimately beat it up...
Toyota Highlander seems to be a solid pick at under $40k price for the XLE
Ford Explorer. Decent trunk space even with third row. It can take a full stroller and then some. Features / price point are great. Good deals to be had with the condition of Ford. Only thing I don’t like is it doesn’t have birds eye view like a highlander. Great for parking who may not be very comfortable with an SUV. Looking at my wife.
Highlander and explorer are both tough if you need to get three car seats across. Which is my situation.
M4 I think ant SUV will be tough if you want three car seats across - if you use the third row there won’t be enough trunk space for 2 strollers - you may want to consider a minivan instead
Love our Acura MDX 3 rows if necessary and holds 7 passengers.
