Nobody talks about the loneliness of being the most technical person in the room. You’re nodding along in meetings, translating jargon in your head, wondering if anyone else feels like they’re speaking a different language.
Have you ever felt like the odd one out at work?

Not for this reason. I feel out of place because everyone else drinks the company Kool Aid and seems to love working here. It's not a bad place or anything, I guess I just don't see what's so great about it either.

I have but also it depends on the team you work with. If you at a tech company I guarantee you won’t feel this.

If you're the most technical person in the room then you're the patsy.

Not Patsy! Totally opposie defrauder😂

I work in a tech-heavy company so I can't quite relate. Usually I'm the one trying to follow the marketing team, wondering what language they are speaking and how anyone could enjoy that kind of work.

Promoted to Manager from Senior Consultant 2 in Business Consulting Risk Advisory. Current package is INR 17.5 L fixed with 7.5 years of total work experience. Bonus received is 25%.

Can someone please tell what would be the revised fixed compensation (how much hike can I expect). Also, whether will be promoted to M1 Or M2. Thanks.

I have an offer to do some consulting for a company based out of the UK (I am in the US). The job would not go through a consulting company but would be directly with the company. I have not done any consulting before so I am not sure how it works, what I would need to set up (they mentioned that I would start a LLC and bill them directly, no idea how to do that), how to determine the tax implications of this, or what hourly rate I would expect. Can anyone offer advice?

Hi! I have a quick question and could use some advice:

I have 1 job offer that is an hour away and pays 45k, after negotiations (Research Associate Position at a University) .

I have just interviewed for a position closer to home and a base salary of 65k, but haven’t heard back from them in about 2 days (He said he would make a decision by yesterday and I’ve reached out).
I have to decide on the first offer by Thursday but I haven’t heard back from the second yet. Thoughts on next move?

Hi Everyone, I am trying to apply for a Technical Support role at Dropbox I’m entering all the required fields but there seems to be an issue, when I hit submit after filling the form, it doesn’t submit and throws error ‘Looks like you left this blank! Please fill out this required field’ when all the fields are entered already (I have checked so many times, and filled the form from scratch several times too). Anyone from Dropbox who can put me in touch with HR or suggest what I should do next?
