Companies might not immediately be able to detect incompetence, especially in roles with delayed performance evaluations like most project-based work. And also, they could also get the help of AI agents to automate repetitive tasks or code or do other stuff that they're capable of. If these people have figured out how to be a whole other person using AI, they can figure out most things lol.

Yeah it takes a while to fully onboard
I guess this isn't too surprising, you hear stories about people taking multiple remote jobs. It had to reach the point of scaling up to where bots are trying to do the same. Though, seriously, this story sounds more like a corporate theft, or corporate sabotage scheme that was uncovered. One more wrinkle in cybersecurity, make sure you don't let a robot into the house.

Imagine being in a world where AI recruiters are hiring AI employees. Everyone saying that AI was coming for our jobs wasn’t kidding! The whole process has gone out! I guess it is a good reminder that the scams are out there and even on the hiring company side, still people looking to act maliciously.

The article highlights the problem here is bots trying to get enough access to hack into employer systems, not fully get a job
But I imagine many remote tech workers can more easily handle multiple jobs simultaneously now and employers may not even notice that a majority of the work is done by AI.
