Does this role exist? My salary is $175k and my max bonus if I get one annually is around $50k— 32F, West Coast, HCOL.

I’m burnt out on my comp plan that’s discretionary AF and there has to be a better way. Every year the goals get bigger and I’m TIRED.

I am of counsel at a firm where I can set my own rate and keep a percentage of collections, which varies slightly depending on whether the client is one I generated or not. I’m finding that a lot of my work is for firm clients where the lawyer negotiated a flat fee (and the hours worked are less, due to efficiency etc). I do institutional sales for an asset manager. Am graduating in the fall with an MBA from a top 40 school. Would like a designation but dont want to do the CFA.  Between the CAIA and CMT: which one is more applicable to asset management, and better status/recognition? appreciate any insight

Due to obvious conditions my comp for the calendar year (salary+bonus) is back to 2017 levels although my overall sales are more than double and 1/3 less total comp than last year. It seems like comp opportunity is always decreasing during good times (I get it) but when it comes to adjusting during bad times, nothing was done. Is this normal for industry sales?

Just curious to how my firms (wealth management/bank/trust) comp compares with others out there. I received a promotion earlier this year from an Investment Advisor, AVP to Senior Investment Advisor, VP and moved from $110K to $140K ($130 salary + $10K discretionary bonus) all in. By meeting expectations in 2 pay cycles, the base bumps up to $175K + bonus. Grown in this role over about 10 years with the same firm, MBA + CFA; top 10 city and living comfortably as dual income household.

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I have an offer from an Asset Manager in London and it is slightly below my expectations. I want to approach them for a joining bonus but was not sure if it is a thing in asset management.
