Isn’t 100k base pay too little at a boutique asset mgmt firm? 4 yrs buy side experience, started at the same firm straight out of college.

For NYC, it's definitely too low

like

Depends. If you're in a rural LCOL/MCOL area, no. If in a big city, yes.

What's the total comp structure? Hard to say base is low without knowing that

What city? What’s total comp?

Location is NYC. total comp includes EoY bonus depending on fund performance(last year was 30k, 75k base, after which I negotiated my base to 100k).

130k total comp for 4 YOE seems fair. Might be able to get higher but do not think you are being low balled given your lack of experience.

like

If you feel like you’re being under paid, you probably are and should leave. You’re in a big enough city where recruiters are dying for candidates.

I think for NYC it’s on the low side. Would think $115k +25-30% bonus is more in range

I think Investment Analyst 1 is in the right ballpark. I would have said $115-120k base plus $35k annual bonus.

That’s really low, negotiate higher

Should I leave my first permanent job as a team leader of 4 DPs in a FMCG business (only been there for 4 months) to join a huge Tech business for a 12months contract?

They offer me 60% more money than my permanent role. Circa 2000 dollars every month in my pocket

However, I am worried if I accept the tech role and I do not become permanent I will be looking again for a job in 12-24 months and my CV won't be showing a managerial position. Won't be showing any progress.

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

Hi Folks,

I'm in negotiation with the this data company (which is only 10 % over offered fixed ctc) but HR hasn't shown much confidence. They have asked for week's time & say can only offer a signing bonus. I'm getting a bit nervous as it's an opportunity I've always wanted!

Am I panicking unnecessarily? Should I hold my nerve? Or should I break the logjam and just accept?

PS I had just joined another org because they were taking too long to process + my dream co is only matching current CTC.

Hello folks,

I have 5.2 years of experience into Salesforce development and TechM was offering me 11 lpa ctc 5 months back....For some reasons, I was compelled to join CTS which offered me only 9.6LPA.

Now I realise that I am being underpaid and also I see no growth in the kind of project I am working with here in CTS....

I have an offer of 14 LPA. How much should I ask for if CTS plans to retain me?? Please help me with this.... I don't have any clue of the retention policies here in CTS..

Can anyone tell me the in-hand salary i will be getting?

I currently make 78k at Lockheed but I’m not doing what I’d like to be doing and i felt stuck and after many conversations with my manager and no solution in sight, I started applying elsewhere. I just recently got an offer from a smaller AI company for 95k that I plan to accept. I’m happy to make the jump, I just don’t know how my manager/coworkers will react when I tell them I’m leaving.

Due to obvious conditions my comp for the calendar year (salary+bonus) is back to 2017 levels although my overall sales are more than double and 1/3 less total comp than last year. It seems like comp opportunity is always decreasing during good times (I get it) but when it comes to adjusting during bad times, nothing was done. Is this normal for industry sales?
