Enjoyed it immensely, and I don’t speak Spanish at all. Yes, I got the symbolism, but it was like a joyful block party. A real marriage, salsa dancing, great colors… it was just fun. You didn’t have to know the language to get the vibe. I can’t speak Italian, but it doesn’t stop me from listening to opera. 🤷
Same. I don't know Spanish and don't listen to Bad Bunny (or any music after 2005 because I got old), but I loved the show. I didn't feel like I needed to know words to get the vibe.

I generally hate that kind of music, so I didn't bother watching it. Frankly, if they went back to the marching bands, that would be a huge improvement.
I went to see Carmen in Germany and LOVED IT. Started to get the idea without language. I have twenty something daughters snd a teen son so I stay open minded to all types of music! Makes life more interesting. I loved the joy of Bad Bunny’s performance!

It had such a great vibe! I had a houseful of 20 year-old- guys (my son’s friends) who all said they loved it. Some speak Spanish, some didn’t I’m surprised that our country believes that English is the only language worth speaking. Perhaps we could try to learn another language. You know like many other countries who attempt or do speak several languages.

I directed marching band for a bunch of years. I tried to program a variety of styles that with something that appeal to my broad audience, but with at least one classic rock number to appeal to the majority of my boosters. Not a lot of Puerto Rican rap fans in my area. Give me a show that has a little rap, some country, a little rock, some current, some nostalgia - in other words a little something for everyone.
I enjoyed it. BUT…
It wasn’t nearly as entertaining as any Super Bowl that I remember since MTV lost the rights to producing the show.
I felt like I was watching a college glee club produce a tribute to Puerto Rico. It made no sense as to why it was on the biggest event in American TV each year. I think it was a big bunch of blandness from both Bad Bunny and the NFL.
I was wanting spectacle and over the top glam and drama and instead I got a production that looked like it was just a theater production with the camera in tight for no good reason.
BB is so colorful, spectacular, and vulgar in his performances, and we got barely any color, no diversity at all, no spectacle, only two surprises with Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga showing up, and it’s obvious that the cameos appearances in the background were pre-taped.
I loved Kendrick last year and the Weekend in 2021 and I like the show each year. This one was underwhelming to say the least.
Also, I was hoping for an over the top showing of Satanism symbolism and pro-trans silliness, but he let me down on that as well. Maybe all of the death threats really did scare him into pulling back.
I think it was less BIG but more personal. The people seemed more real and less glamorous. I actually thought that was great but it is a matter of personal taste at that point.
It was a fun party vibe which I think was his goal. I do feel bad for the audience in the stands because this performance was more for tv viewers at home. Other than that I think it was fun & I appreciate his message of unity and the statement of love being stronger than hate. I enjoyed watching it! :)

I do not feel bad for people who got to watch the Super Bowl in person

English is the official language in the USA. Nearly 100% of it's legitimate citizens speak it. Almost all of the NFL's and their sponsor's paying customers are legitimate American Citizens. Common sense would at the very least suggest that it would be logical to put things in the language that the majority of your paying customers can understand. I really could care less about the NFL. If they want to shoot themselves in the foot, so to speak, in order to be WOKE, politically correct, or whatever else, I suppose it is their right to do so. Whatever.
Do you know what the word “legitimate” means? I don’t think that you are using the word correctly.
I ask you the same question that I asked MSST: what language is used for all “legitimate” legal documentation and in “legitimate” court proceedings? I’ll wait for your “legitimate” response.

I am not interested in any halftime show debates. I am interested in your students spanish skills. I don't know which dialect of spanish BB speaks because I really don't know anything about him. As you would know, different regional spanish dialects change a great deal and can be hard to understand. Are you teaching any conversational spanish skills? I found that when I lived and worked in SoCal mostly among first language spanish speakers, very little of my high school spanish transferred. I had to learn the way they communicated including slang and abbreviations. Not to mention there were Mexicans, Central Americans, Brazilians, ect, and communication had to be in such a way that everyone understood.
He's Puerto Rican (Borican?).
I have previously heard that it is one of the most difficult dialects to understand for other Spanish speakers.

Super Bowl halftime shows used to be just marching bands. You don’t need lyrics to enjoy music. Personally I don’t really care about BB’s performance.
Why would anyone expect anything but English?
In my district they allow native Spanish speakers to take Spanish as a F.L. I wonder what if anything those students would say about it?
Native English speakers are all required to take English as a class every year in Michigan. And some manage to fail.
