I know someone who was an accountant and became FBI. He’s a badass.
My brother did this about 10yr ago.. I seriously considered it a few years ago as it was a dream of mine too, but then I suffered a back injury. It’s definitely doable though if you’re serious, and it’s a major change
It’s def possible, you’ll need to be okay with a pay cut and relocation if you go federal. My only advice would be to do it sooner rather than later, so you can somewhat catch up comp wise. The FBI has a STEM program that can expedite your entrance into the agency, they’re always looking for smart people with professional experience and as a big4 consultant you’re an attractive candidate. Good luck!
I have always wanted to work border patrol but it doesn’t pay very well 😕

I went the other way around (and prob already doxed myself based on that).
Thank you for the feedback D2, that was very insightful and I appreciate you taking the time to respond!

I struggle to understand why anyone would want to be a cop.
It’s a lowly paid job, dangerous, and everyone hates you. I don’t see the appeal. Also, ACAB.

Wow that’s a huge blanket statement to make and just downright hate filled. It’s a really hard time to be law enforcement yes, but damn the hate from you is disgusting.

I knew a guy who went from consulting to the FBI, but he had an Army background pre-consulting.

Federal? Military? Or state/local?

I find that the work in local PD tends to be more “real” - whereas Feds can get stuck on a desk. I’m being super general and it’s very much individual circumstance but a lot of real police work is done local.
That being said, anywhere you go you will have to work your way up from the bottom which can be very frustrating.
I'm in the process of choosing between offers from Booze and a local police department. I'm so on the fence. Dm me it's You want to compare notes.
