45 is mode, probably 6-8 weeks a year are more intense at around 65 hours and 6-8 weeks really light like 30 hours
Good for you! All the years of grinding are paying off I guess :)
Does anyone remember the article about the work/life balance of a PwC partner? It published like 10 years ago. This guy claimed he woke up at 4 something every morning and had to FaceTime his kids from work to even see them during the week.

Our practice partner only plays golf & offline all the time . 🤣
Sounds like we are on the same team!

I think, as a Senior Manager, that range is also applicable. I won't fake doing work if there isn't any (albeit rare) so I can dip to 20 if I know it's a particularly slow week. Goes to 60 in crunch time or during a beefy RFP, averages at 45-50. My closest partner is beside me most of the time with the exact same hours.
Well, I guess partners don't work as much as we thought 🤣
20-60 depending on deal flow and delivery issues
Oh I know how to frame how efficient and successful the sales function is. I just find it funny that one can work 20 hours a week and make $1m+. Hats off to you, but I don’t think this will be sustainable for the next generation.
I’ll take 61, Bob
40 hours, thats what they pay for... Dont let societal pressure and corporate greed become the death of your WLB. If you want to put more hours, need to pay more.
Partners earn more if they work more and bring in more business...
50-60
I always thought partners life were way easier than EM, AP. From what I heard they mostly play golf, grab dinner with clients

The days of multi-million dollar deals made over martinis, dinner, and a handshake is over and has been long gone. Spending controls at major companies have eliminated discretionary spending where even VP+ no longer have $100k+ to even drop on some short term project.
Where this still happens is in PE so you might be conflating regular management consulting with PE “consulting”.

Good week: 50
Horrible week: 90
90?
90!?!?
If I had more than 2 weeks of 90 in a row I’d quit
