Disney website is pretty much always the best place to get tickets. That's how you know they're real. Also, if you run into any issues, Disney can help you. They can't help if you bought them from a third party. In my experience, Lightning Lanes are usually worth it. Be prepared for crowds next week. Thanksgiving week is nuts. Pack your patience.
If you have the cash to do a VIP tour, that will allow you to basically skip the lines at all rides and you’ll get priority seating at the shows and a private character meeting with a character of your choice but it’s pricey. I think during Thanksgiving week it’s like $700 an hour and you need to book a minimum of 6 hours, plus you still have to buy your tickets. It’s really the only other “fast access” option. Generally agree with everyone else here that the Disney website is best and that lightning pass is 100% worth it.
This is the way
I don’t know what they call it now, fast pass, lightening pass, whatever, unless your 7 year old is the type that enjoys standing in a line literally all day, it is definitely worth it.
I can say this confidently without having any idea what your budget or financial situation is. It’s irrelevant.
Ooof next week will be nuts. 100% buy lightning lane
Anyone been in early April? I’m planning on going April 3-7, which I believe is after Spring break for most schools? My other option is Aug, but I’m leaning towards April given how hot it will be in Aug.
Spring break season is busy (March-April) and around Easter is the busiest, but not Thanksgiving/Christmas week level busy. The weather in August is just brutal (plus hurricane season), so I’d keep it in April.

You save a bit on your park tickets by going through undercover tourist (reputable, I’ve used them a few times) and if they’re delivered electronically via email it’s easy to link them. Make sure you get them in advance and link them to your Disney account. Depending on where you’re staying (onsite versus offsite) will determine how far in advance (7 vs 3 days, I think) you can book your lightening lanes. Prioritize the harder to book rides because they do book up.
I read somewhere Lightning lane can surge to $300-400 per person per day? 😲 Never been before, going in first week of April next year with a 6 and 3 year old. Booked through Disney staying at Animal Kingdom lodge onsite.
Thank you
