We have the Q7 and love it. The XC90 was also nice to test drive, but I just liked the interior ergonomics of the Audi a little more. Same situation — two kids, and a large dog. It handles road trips well, Costco is a breeze, love the powering folding third row.
^ that tire issue drives me nuts about BMW. I get nervous thinking about not having a spare (plenty of nails and potholes here in DC). Also, the dealer said they were not run flats when they very clearly are 🤦♂️
Q7 if you need the extra space. X5 if you don’t. The BMW is just that good
XC90. Top safety marks, zero recorded deaths, great reliability, and maintains its value longer.
Full ice
Volvo’s tech interface was maddening the last time I looked. I think I’d go Q7 then volvo, then Bimmer
Have a 2017 A4. Love the tactile knob!
Update - think I found a low miles 2023 Q7 Premium Plus that we like. More to come.
^ mehh, that’s fine. I want a good deal, not the “current model.”
XC90, and adding to G1’s comment above - looks the cleanest and classiest in my eyes, and the brand doesn’t carry much of the negative cliches of BMW or Audi. I say that as a BMW owner 🙃
Q7 is better IMO, the rear 2 seats slightly bigger than XC70.
XC70 has legendary safety record but have heard some rumours recently re quality under new Chinese management.
I don’t think between the two, either is a bad choice!
Bmw
X5 is the clear winner here for both dricing dynamics and gorgeous interior. Q7 in close second with the 3.0t powertrain and could be the best choice if you can snag a good deal.
Volvo is not what it used to be for reliability and the 4cyl powertrain is frankly unacceptable at this price range.
Yes! We just got a 2021 X5 and it's been amazing.
None, because they all out of my price range.
How about BMW X7 if you need a 3rd row? In this mix I would definitely consider cross shopping Acura MDX, Lexus RX and Mazda CX90 if reliability matters.
Her friends have Euro SUV and working at non-profit is a tough balancing act. That alone probably qualifies Q7 which is probably the most subtle here. Or do a VW Atlas…
