I tell everyone: when you are networking and trying to get referrals, everyone is fair game. I have reached out to friends from the past, relatives, you name it. A referral can sometimes help you land an interview, if nothing else.

Just started to be more intentional with my network. Keeping up with people is a job in itself, but it is important. I’m hearing about people doing cold referrals. Reaching out to somebody they don’t know at the company, wondering if that works at all.

Referrals are all about the hockey assist. The connection that makes the connection to someone else that can help. Loose connections are the most likely to help you. I have completed 8 months in the current org and my Notice Period is 90 Days.
If I resign and serve notice , my tenure at current workplace will be 11 months.
Should I work for one more month and resign ?
Or should I resign right away and serve 2 months notice period and buy out one months notice ?

Just got let go. I think the separation agreement is pretty standard but wondering if I should have a lawyer look over it anyway. If so, does anyone have experience with finding one or have a ballpark of how much a task like this would cost? NYC based if that helps.
