Honestly, if you do find a good one, keep in contact with them even after you find a role. I have a recruiter that I have known and stayed in touch with for over a decade and they are always willing to help me when needed.
It really depends on the recruiter. Some are great and actually work diligently to get you placed. Others will go weeks without responding to your calls or emails. I've dealt with a lot more of the latter than the former, but I have had a few decent experiences sprinkled in.
I need to find a great one,
I had a helpful one. I would ask your friends if they had any good experiences with any they would recommend.
I rarely had any luck with recruiters. Most of them that have contacted me in recent years for for a role that would be a lateral move or a step down from my current role, and at a 10%+ pay cut. Never a step above my current job duties or pay increase. And many have been a short 3-6 month contract.
Yup same with me - this is what the market it like right now. Trying to get experienced candidates for the best dollar and they will as ppl without jobs will bite. Used to get recruiters reaching out with promotions or way better salaries
It means you are not a top candidate for those roles, so they don't think they can get you the role. Keep working on improving your resume and acquiring new skills.
And there are dozens of other people they are trying to place too. All they can do is find the best matches and send the resumes to the company. They may be sending the resume but not getting a bite on it either.
No. I don’t remember that at all.
I also typically have a terrible experience with recruiters but there are a couple gems here and there. Find one that fits your personality and they will have clients that are also looking for a similar personality. They are pretty aloof right now because they have so many candidates to work with and employers can literally be as picky as they want about anything at all
