RIP to Steve Cozzi. Such a horrible, heinous crime that hits far too close to home. We graduated 2 years apart from the same law school, and I remember seeing his face around the campus he was very involved with. We worked with his firm a few weeks ago, and his name would come up on emails from time to time. Such a sad time for his friends, family, and legal profession as a whole.

I am defending an eviction for a client who has given possession of the property (as of Nov. 30). Plaintiff’s complaint has one claim – possession. They did request relief for attorney’s fees. NJT/Final Hearing commenced 10/27, was only 30 min and was therefore continued to 12/20. Plaintiff had counsel at that time but they are no longer represented.  I want to file something notifying Court that Plaintiff claim is now moot, making sure that judgment is not entered that hurts (cont'd)..
