No! I enjoy teaching but my philosophy has always been “I work to live not live to work!”

I'm loving the fact that I'm home early enough to play with the 🐕 and spend time doing stuff for me and the family.
Of course not! Self care should always be prioritized because if you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t be able to properly care for others! Good that you recognize your worth sooner than later!

It feels good to dip out. And walk out the door before 6 or 7.
No guilt-the fact that is educators think that is rather sad :( Even if not “work to rule” just gave strong boundaries

I have always been a late-stayer. It's a hard habit to break
No, if your work is done you and your family deserve your time and you there’s.
I was like you.

I am still trying to break the habit. It's easy to get caught up in organizing and cleaning things. I forget thw time. My timer has been my best friend in thw last few weeks.
You should never give more than you’re getting.

I'm seeing that now. I'm still staying past 3:30, but my deadline is 4 (unless I'm just doing stuff i want to do)
The truth is, doing more doesn’t gain you more. I say to value other things in your life besides just work and enjoy!

I'm learning it. We have been spending more time with friends, too
Work-life balance is so important! No guilt!

This is a eye-opening to me. I honestly didn't realize how much our a habit it was to me
No, don’t feel guilty. You’re doing your job. You are ( not anymore) your job your life. Always remember you work to live, not live to work. Having a work, home life balance is super important. When I became a teacher, the first couple years, some days would stay super late to get stuff done, but realized I could work 24/7 and there would always be things I could be doing. I crashed after year four. I just had to promise myself that I would show up a little early if I was behind, but I always took my lunch, and only worked until I was supposed to at the end of the day. I learned to make every minute count during team and individual planning time. I’ve been retired a couple years after 28 years in the classroom. Learning time management and prioritizing were what saved me. Making the time for friends, family, and other outside interests made me a better, more well rounded person and teacher. Don’t feel guilty. You owe yourself a life.

Thank you for you words. The only day I'm staying late is on game days. So I spend the few minutes between opening the end of class and opening the gate grading papers or doing stuff in my room
