Ugh.. just scrolled down a bit into the "get out of your car and into the streets" chant.
Who the F do they think they are. Drivers might be trying to go home to feed their kids, rushing to the hospital to see their dying mom or wife give birth, going to work to earn a living.. and you're just demanding they drop everything for your lazy ass yelling.
I'm in a Dem city but work remotely, thankfully I don't have to drive. But my blood would be boiling.
No RANDO gets to tell me or my family where we're going that day, just because they feel like it. They want me to talk, I charge hundreds an hour and take long lunch breaks
Imagine a mob of drunk partygoers get too rowdy on a weekend and walks up to your car like that... Blocking your way and demanding you get out of the car. How would you react??
Esp if I had loved ones in the car.... I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6

Good question!
In most cases I'd ofc avoid the situation or try and find a more peaceful exit. But..Immediate threat needs to be addressed immediately, we can prepare for the worst case trial outcome, in safety. But in the moment you don't know how fast it can escalate. Ex. Recent story below.
If I'm being asked to get out of my car by non-law enforcement crowd, while my family and kids are with me, I will assume they are in immediate danger.
There is 0 getting out of the car, immediate look for an exit, and the safety of those making demands of me come second to my need to leave the situation. If they are in the way, they won't be.
Example:
“They say Black lives matter,” Secoriya Williamson, the father of 8-year-old Secoriea Turner, said during a press conference. “You killed your own. You killed your own this time. … You killed a child. She didn’t do nothing to nobody.”
Police said Secoriea was shot while riding in a vehicle with her mother and her mother’s friend near the now-burned-out Wendy’s, which had become a flashpoint of recent protests since the police-custody death of Brooks on June 12."

Hmm. I think this still classified as protected speech. This doesn’t look like a riot.

The president should have attempted to address the needs of the protestors. He dragged this out for longer than it needed to be for personal gain.
