I’m right there with you. Never in all my life have I experienced this much difficulty getting an offer. My confidence has taken a major blow as a result and now I find myself applying for as many jobs as possible just to play the numbers game and increase my chances of getting interviews. Hang in there my friend and the next door will open at just the right time
Team, try to get referrals. Even if you don’t know anyone at the company, reach out to someone on linkedin. They benefit from your referral bonus, you benefit from your CV being dropped on the right pile. There is barely any point in just applying to a job listing, unfortunately.
Might be time to get crafty, pick up the phone, and showcase that enthusiasm and sales skill to the hiring manager
I was looking for almost 4 months, countless phone calls/interviews and was thinking I was never going to get an offer. I kept going and ended up getting four offers all within three days of each other. What helped me and what I hope you’ll find comforting is to just remember that there are so many people in the same boat. Everyone keeps saying it’s an employee market but that’s not necessarily true, with layoffs and so many things going on in the topsy-turvy world it’s a weird time. I haven’t heard of anyone finding a position in under a month, and most people are 4-6 months if not longer. LinkedIn was my favorite for applying, update your profile to “actively looking” and shoot out those resumes. I also really enjoyed using Otta.. found some cool companies on there.
Definitely sending you some good vibes! Something is bound to come along very soon. And I bet you even end up getting more than one offer - I’ve always found that when it rains it pours when it comes to job offers. Good luck & hang in there!
Definitely sending positive vibes. Are you getting calls back or do you feel like you are not getting to the first call? Many employers maybe most use resume scanning to pull a small percentage of resumes based of word matches. My recommendation is to put some time into seeing if your resume is formatted in a way that is scanner friendly and also it wouldn’t hurt to (for only the ones more important to you) do a scan match to see how close you resume is to the job posting. For me, I have found that 90% of the battle is being seen. Keep in mind Every application is one closer to getting your next opportunity. Stay confident.
