Would you also add good units to avoid on that list?

Last night BF and I went out to dinner since neither of us wanted to cook. We were having an enjoyable evening and ran into a former co-worker and her husband who I have not seen since before COVID. Ex co-worker made this odd scene about my "glow up" and even posted to social media a picture she insisted both couples take.

Much respect to my fellow weekend warriors out there. Balancing work and service responsibilities your job doesn’t understand is no easy task.

So my unit (USAR) is doing in person Battle Assembly. Here's the crazy: Its a MUTA-8, so we all show up on Thursday at 0600. Half of us go to the range, half of us stay in the Reserve Center to do administrative tasks.
We flip that on Friday.

On Saturday, those that went to the range on Thursday come in, and they do virtual battle assembly on the Sunday. Flip that for those who went to the range on Friday.
Unit is in MD, I live in VA, range is in VA, and mo buses, so I cross the bridge 4x

So how do you balance it when you have a job leader and a unit commander who are both dicks about working with you to help balance the two commitments?

So are we all still doing virtual battle assemblies? I got paid for April and will get paid for May, and I did my online training during regular work hours since it counted for a work activity also.

Army Reserve here. Thinking about ditching firm provided health insurance for Tricare Reserve Select. Wife currently undergoing treatment for stage 3 breast cancer, so I'm naturally reticent about messing with health stuff.

Any opinions one way or the other?
