Anyone know how to get added to the Tech bowl?
Hi All, My sister has done Computer Science engineering Bachelor degree and has 5 years of work experience in India. She is applying for MBA at https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/mba/full-time-mba/ and https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/academics/majors-minors/marketing.html. Her overall goal is to get into Software Product management. Any suggestions if any of these MBA’s can open path in the desired space or if she is better of doing an MS in Comp engg. to further develop deeper Technology skills. Thanks

1) Time zone conflicts are par for course. Not too bad if you’re PT
2) There is some loss there when you’re team is not in-office.
3) Even FAANG has offshore teams. Once you get into the recruiting pipeline, it’s a matter of your own performance during the interviews. Whether you worked with a tight-knit team in three cubicles in SF or remotely with teams across the ocean doesn’t really matter.
Will you be the only one located stateside? Or is there a team? If it's just you, then I'd say your concerns are valid.
Nope, there are other PMs in the US
In my experience (EST and CST), working with India based teams can be challenging due to time zone differences. We have a limited overlap window in the mornings and it can take a lot of effort to stay aligned, collaborate, and strategize together. Our India based team already works on the later side, and most of our overlap is used for status updates, urgent questions, etc.
No I think it's more about how you work in general - even with a remote team, you'd likely have the same struggles (sans timezone issues) so really, it's about how you adapt
