Some large carrier’s and TPA’s are now requiring that we pay them to be “graded” for referrals- no referrals if we do not agree and the payment is based on a percentage of our receipts. So we are paying them back earned fees for the right to get work from them; and after they’ve already cut our bills… where I practice I’m pretty sure this is unethical fee sharing with non-lawyers; yet I’m afraid to bite the hand that feeds me as we get a huge amount of work from those carriers. Thoughts?

I hope that enough firms band together against this, but there’s so many small firms and partners that are living off others work that they probably won’t.

Total race to the bottom unfortunately.

What the hell? I would say no and that it's a total breach of ethics.
And internally I would say to them to eff off.

Insurance defense is a race to the bottom. Now the firms are paying the insurers. Lol

I work in insurance. I was working for an Allstate agent and was fired the day after my grandmothers funeral for being “unenthusiastic in our morning meeting”. Now I’m having anxiety searching for a job. I don’t think I want to sell anymore yet every single recruiter I interview with says I should, that I have a “salesperson mentality”. I’m burnt out. Has anyone else felt this way? How did handle it? Is there a different career path I can take or am I destined to sell insurance forever?

Is life insurance a priority to anyone at the moment, and if so why is life insurance important to you?

It can be impossible to deal with financial losses due to declining health or unforeseen circumstances by not having life insurance. In these cases, the solution to your debts (that can affect the financial stability of you or your loved ones) may fall within the category of life insurance.
