Hijabi challenges/experiences in workplace?
Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

Although I don't really have such story,
I've once firmly rejected skipping Jumuah prayer in Masjid for work in a past company, which may put me in danger of being terminated.
Then they updated my schedule so I had Friday switched with another weekend day.
More for political/ethical reason than an explicit Islamic ruling, but the one time early in my career I turned down a consulting project with an Israeli telecom company based in Tel Aviv. The work was remote but would’ve had a couple of weeks on-site in Tel Aviv. I was junior consultant and new to that company so I was worried on how that will be perceived. Especially that it was a small software company, so the projects pipeline wasn’t as robust as larger firms.
Thankfully a project came up within days based in Madrid instead so it worked out.

Not a job - but I know people that were taken off projects because they did not want to have any part in working with an alcohol company
Left a job because it basically wanted us to scam old people and Alhamdulliallah got a better paying job within one week.
I have always prayed that I don't have to make such a decision in my career. But once the time came and I was asked to write a software for a Bank, I politely refused. Manager complained to the VP. VP had hired me in past and I had categorically stated in front of him that I won''t do such a thing, so he explained to the manager who later mentioned the incident to me. This all happened in a Muslim majority company. This increased my faith and I have seen tremendous growth in my career afterwards.
