The Art of Listening - A Crucial Leadership Quality

In most cases, leadership calls for listening than for speaking.

Recently, I was in a call with a client, and they were explaining to me the difficulties they had experienced in the use of Microsoft 365. I did not start by offering solutions. I did NOT. By the end of this conversation, the client’s suggestions changed our solutions for the future.

This made me appreciate how others do a lot more;

Got to a modeling round for a PE Firm and it’s later today. Really like the people but not a big fan of the investment strategy. Wondering if withdrawing from the process right now would hurt my relationship with the HH’s?

I am an associate at a UMM and my employment contract has a 4 month non compete (yes, even for associates) but I am thinking of lateraling. What are the implications of breaking a non compete? I didn’t say anything when I signed because I was desperate for a PE offer but it seems so unfair as I am just a lowly associate. I am not so much worried about getting sued, but about my current employer tanking my reputation if I leave and break the non compete.

I am a developer with 4.7 yrs in IT & have worked as .Net & presently as Salesforce Developer in my career, my ctc is 9.5LPA.
How can i shape my career hierarchy to reach at good level with yoe i have. I see my juniors with just 2yoe earning more than my ctc. Should i work as a developer for coming years or should i start preparing myself for higher level in IT. Incase if I should prepare for higher levels then what it should be Architect or is it shud be in Bussiness domain?
