I'm happy you feel this way but I'm in the opposite situation. My role has grown from strategy to execution and even ops. I'm fighting burnout every day.
I’m a PMP holder and I’m finding I’m doing both planning, managing and operations. It’s a lot!!
I think our role has definitely changed over time but the role is still so company dependent that it’s tough to over generalize. I think, at a minimum, AI is shifting the role and we will soon be looked at less for our written communication skills (since AI can do this better than most of us).
true, prioritization of new features and capabilities will be where the value prop for PMs will be in the future
AI still cant and wont be able to do this with any reasoning as there are simply too many variables in the decision making, so ultimately it will still be humans guiding the path of product development in the future (we just probably wont be writing out the actual requirements anymore sometime soon)
I work in a place with less funding for development work. I’m doing more operations as a result. Working to find wins with what I have which isn’t much.
