There’s a difference between being busy in your job search and actually making progress. I’ve had days where I applied to a bunch of roles and felt productive, and other days where one solid conversation moved things forward way more than ten applications. Makes me rethink what “productive” really means in this process, sometimes.

You make a great point most job seekers miss.

It feels productive to apply to a high volume of jobs because it’s measurable, but most of the real movement in a search comes from conversations and visibility, not in the number of resumes you sent out.

I’ve seen it over and over, one good interaction does more than dozens of applications sitting in an ATS or an inbox.

Shifting from how many did I apply to, to what actually moved me forward, is where things start to change for the better in a job search.

This is why, I post a lot on LinkedIn and get on the phone with people. Talking to someone and getting information and/or learning new tools people are using, helps me move forward.

So engineers can now automate the writing of basic code, and potentially more complex tasks, by using GPT-3.

For those who are technical: If machines can write code, how are you going to upskill? And what are the best ways make yourself indispensable?

I am not embracing the notion that you shouldn't have to code to do data science. However, I think coding may soon be much less of a competitive advantage.

Hello Fishes,

So far I received offers from PwC India, Capgemini and Lexmark for Data Engineering.

More are in pipeline from KPMG GS, TechM, Accenture.

But one peculiar thing is happening. I have appeared for 4 Cognizant interviews but in all I have been rejected. Whereas most of my friends had easily cleared Cognizant. I am switching tech, so I am a bit concerned like whether my knowledge is too shallow😐

Is it sign of an Imposter Syndrome 🥺

Pls help🙏🏾

Big law literally saved my life. I was working for the government and being sued by creditors and in a deep, dark place. I wasn't even able to afford my Ube transfer application on my own. I've been at my firm for 3 years now and my life has completely changed. I was so close to declaring bankruptcy it's not even funny. I understand why people rag on it but some of us would be in a really bad place if we weren't here
