Hi Fishes, I have received an offer from Barclays for AVP position. But the role discussed during interview was for Tech Delivery Manager whereas the offer letter mentions it as Tech Delivery Lead. Can you guys please suggest if it is the same role or should I request recruiter to get the role updated? Moreover it would be great if any of you can shed some light on the prospects/challenges of this role based on your experiences. Barclays Barclays global service center

How early is too early to ask for a raise?
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

It's true that it's illegal to ask about someone's salary in a lot of states. Some prospective employers may claim they want to see it to verify employment, but there are other ways to do that. Companies simply call to verify employment dates all the time.
Everything employers say and do in my experience is illegal but unless its based on a protected category AND you can prove it, its not de facto illegal. Hence why our protections are being rolled back even more. That's why employers ask what neighborhood you live in, what elementary school you went to, what language do you speak, etc to either class you or look you up. The HR Bowl is effing wild, literal HR mangers making illegal comments. If you are a minority life is HARD.
Thanks for sharing this. I wanted to know the specifics on this for a while now.
It is so important to educate yourself on these topics. Assuming that companies act with integrity and compliance with the laws isn’t something you can do.
I agree. NOOOOOOOO !!!
Not 100% true. In many states you can’t use current or prior salary in making a determination about an offer. But post offer, asking for a pay stub to prove employment is not illegal.
