People who are intent on euphemizing “history” will support anything that they think will absolve their ancestors of participation in an ugliness. Problem is that we are a society of recorders so those misdeeds will ALWAYS be present. Somewhere. All any thinking person has to do is look at any local news channel and evidence of the very things he and his ilk are trying to suppress and deny become glaringly obvious.
I had not heard of CRT until it became a controversial issue to people and groups that I consider suspect. Now, I have had my curiosity piqued so I’m reading as much as I can and viewing all of the information I find. In seeking to suppress CRT, these people have made thinking people curious because as a thinking person, I refuse to let someone else think FOR me.
I’m an English teacher; we make connections between things. As I have had to study history, I can see clear comparisons between what we are embracing and the events in Germany prior to World War II. I also see connections to Orwell’s Dystopian Society.
Am I crazy? I don’t think so. Will I be censored for making these comments? Probably.
