Hello! I am looking for two new Texas teachers (0-5 years) who would be interested in participating in a study I am doing as a Doctoral Candidate at Baylor. The study looks to understand the experiences women working in the field of education have had that triggered shame and explore their resilience. If you are interested, click the link below to get started: bit.ly/ShameResilienceStudy

I couldnât stop nodding my head. Yes. So much yes.
This is assuming no one can think for themselves - which, I guess, is really common!
I'm a white woman, but I'm first generation. No one would know it be looking at me and would just assume I'm some "stupid American."
My parents did a fantastic job raising me and telling me about real history. My history teachers growing up did a great job telling it like it is. We frequently had discussions on historical inaccuracies - this was in a tiny, rural school. Maybe urban-areas didn't learn the way we learned - which is often obvious when it comes to other aspects of life...
I think this goes to show, though, that you can't trust our government and they'll do whatever they can to cover up the awful things they are doing right in front of our eyes.
They allow curriculum companies to print these lies and cover ups. But, yet, we're now supposed to believe them when they tell us what's best for us?
Quit believing everything you read and do your own research. Don't take any government entity at their word. They have a stake in the game. Nowadays, we call the people that do their own thinking "conspiracy theorists," but with hostorical cover-ups, why would we fully trust what we're fed today?
i'm a WW of a very diverse family. I don't think race makes you more educated, ability and drive lead to enlightenment and knowledge. This was too much of a blanket statement for me to get behind it. I don't pick my students and I do the best I can to be real, caring, and open with them about our country's past as well as our present.
