Those of you that switched firms as a Partner (I spent many years at another big 4), how did you go about finding new opportunities, building your pipeline and getting integrated on accounts? I am finding it quite stressful - my sponsor is very supportive but still I don’t get pulled into opportunities organically. The only account I am building is my own previous one but it won’t get me to the numbers soon. Any ideas on how to navigate a new hire journey?

Having come from another firm, Accenture is definitely a hunt in packs style. Your internal contacts will be as important as your external ones. Your overall practice lead, industry lead, and account leads should be able to help you get some traction while the non-compete is still active. The external hires I’ve seen be successful get embedded somewhere, usually at an account or two.

Accenture's go to market model is absolutely not conducive to Senior Hire integration.
I was part of a large build up in 2020 and exited 2 years later, as the only way for me to make my numbers was doing the work that others were messing up

Reach out and network with CALs. They are the ones that bring you in from the SG to speak with their client.

Same here. Lesson learned for me - don’t switch firms at a senior level. Kiss a$$ and carry someone’s suitcase if you want to gain traction.

Welcome to a tough consulting market.

As a partner you best be selling your own work and not expecting others to feed. Build that book. Gotta hustle.

Ofcourse understand that and I am selling my own work but the chargeability and sales targets here are quite high and without the hunting pack and an onerous non compete seems a steep climb up

It was already mentioned that you should get to know CALs - which is true; but they’re also the focal point for all things, which means they are inundated and may not have bandwidth for you.

You might also look for ways to get to know service leads that are often dedicated to larger accounts (I’m in Security, for example, and we have SALs - Security Account Leads). Other services have a similar pattern for key accounts (Song, IX, Tech, etc). These folks are often part of the CALs leadership team and know the account landscape extremely well.

I guess it depends a bit on your background as well, and if you slant toward any particular set of offerings.

Hello,

Long time fishbowl lurker, first time poster.

I work in Healthcare consulting (8 yoe). I'm incredibly passionate about Healthcare and have thought a lot about how to make meaningful changes that keep people healthy and how it can be affordable and accessible to all. I know Google has been operating in the Healthcare market. Anyone here open to connect so I can learn more about its current activities/future plans? I'd like to see if there's a role that I'd be a good fit for.

Thank you!

This post is an alert message for anyone joining the Johnson & Johnson EMEA account for SAP & had Rakesh Sharma for their Manager round.

He is nothing less than a con man & will promise you a lot to make you join the account. After that he will put you in testing projects. If you ask for a release, he will either not release you or release with a very bad rating and influence other project managers to not take you into their projects.

You will be left with no choice other than leaving TCS.
