And if you're a company like Marsh who lost almost 400 staffers, sorry, they still need to be remembered. Signed, someone who lost a coworker on 9/11.
I certainly don’t expect Wendy’s or Jimmy John’s to post for 9/11, but I wouldn’t shame them for acknowledging it as long as it’s not to promote a sale.
9/11 was one of the darkest days in our history, but the response to this act of terror brought out the best in Americans. Beginning with the response of passengers on United Flight 93 who fought back, but continued in how we were unified in the face of tragedy in a way I’m not sure we’ll ever see again in our lifetime. The response is a reason to have hope, just as much as the events are important to remember.
I commuted to NYC this morning like any other day and was emotional thinking about how 24 years ago almost 3,000 people were doing the same thing and never made it home.
I prefer a heartfelt "we remember" over the images of the burning towers and the conspiracy theories. I personally avoid social media that day though.
