I admit even at my age (44) I am happy when our smart as fuck mid-50s CSO comes in and schools everyone and is the older adult.
people but 5 years and a bachelor’s degree is not a lot of experience. They also wanted this person to have already managed a team of strategists.
That basically means they 1. Just want a CSO title in their agency to try to impress their clients, 2. Don’t really care about his/her contribution to the agency and 3. Don’t want to spend more than $80/$90k for this position. At least they are aware of the importance of claiming to have a CSO! That’s already something.
Half decade of business experience and ready to be the HOP!?! Only posers will apply.
If I had a boss that didn’t know what a DMA was I’m not sure if I would cry, rage, or just call it a day and retire.
Def the trend at all levels. Positions that used to require 10-12 now are 5-8. Cost savings for sure. And younger leaders wanting staff far younger than themselves.
That’s bananas.
