I've never heard of good friday being a school holiday. I"m in WA and in at least OR and WA, only federal holidays are days off for public schools. Lucky you!
I looked it up and good Friday is holiday in only about 13 states. We don't get the day after Easter off either unless it falls on spring break which it does this year. Only federal holidays are observed in WA. We don't need any extra days added to our school year, it's long enough! because of a strike and a snow storm, we don't get out until 6/18 this year.
We haven’t had Good Friday off since spring break stopped being combined with Easter. We do have Monday off this year for the first time and I’m looking forward to an extra day to rest and catch up on things. 😊
