Build it. I did.
Focus on a good processor and very good motherboard.
Rest all can be upgraded. Motherboard is your holy grail. If it’s a good time I’ll be supported easy 5-7 years in future.
This. Don’t need to drop all that money on GPU. Buy a fairly high end GPU to start but don’t need the best. I built a PC back in 2016 with a MSI motherboard, and i7 with NVidia 1080 GTX and it runs all the major games smoothly at 100+ FPS.
3060/70 Ti
32GB DDR5
Intel 12 Gen (12600K)
AiO cooler of your choice
Case of your choice
Case fans of your choice
1 TB NVMe SSD
Should come out to ~$2k-$2.5k
I have 16gb and I agree that 32gb should be a minimum unless you aren't playing newer games and want to multitask ie tons of chrome tabs, a game, discord, etc
Depends, what's your budget? Does that include monitor and accessories?
1200 is gonnna be pretty low for a future resilient pc. I built mine with a 1080ti when it was still new, paid MSRP for everything and was Bout twice that total. A 3080 MSRP is your best bet but that’s > half the 1200
The main thing is gpu, they are crazy expensive if you want to future proof
Currently best bet is just get a ps5 you’ll get a lot on it over the next decade
Cpu wise you can go a bit older and cheaper in that regard and still get fantastic performance
Storage wise all pretty similar and if you get 2nd hand parts they’re cheaper
Hdd are gonna get you more for cheaper compared to an ssd that has faster read/write times
Ram wise 16gb is often enough and likely will be fore foreseeable future and leaves you room for upgrading
GPUs have gone down to almost MSRP prices, try find a PS5 at MSRP
Build it yourself; get the parts on offer up
Easier if you have a micro center around you for both pc parts or pre built.
If you’re fine with 1080p 60fps gaming, they have their 3060 pre built pc right now for ~$1.2k. You can spend another ~$50 for a quieter quality cooler.
