I would look into daycares. Is that what you are asking about? What to do with the baby when you go back to work?
In no particular order daycare, nanny, or au pair.
“Don’t know what we’ll do with the newborn” is a new level of not thinking things through or prepping 🤣
You’ll do what countless other parents have done before you. Which people have commented.
Thank you for not being insensitive!
You need full time care for your kids - that's either you quitting your job to take care of them or you paying someone else to take care of them .
Do you have maternity leave? Can you get a workplace exception for the first 6 months to be remote? If not hire a nanny for your husband to oversee at home. It’s nice having a parent around although working / not caring for the baby. Obviously depending on finances, but that might be worth investing for a limited time while having a newborn.
I’ve thought about asking for a 6-month extension, but I’m scared. Our CEO is very pro-onsite and I worry that the longer I’m gone, the higher the chance I come back without a job. I know they cant do that but still... I had a terrible experience with daycare with my first, and I don’t want to repeat that when the baby is so little. I really thought getting a remote job would be easy, but the market is flooded and I haven’t gotten a single interview in six months.
I’m confused. Do you not have maternity leave? You’ll go on maternity leave, your husband can stagger leave if he gets any, and then you will get full time childcare for your child. Just like everyone else?
I had my second when first was almost 4. And it’s actually a nice gap as firstborn is more self sufficient. They are both in full time daycare. Started the second at 6 months.
my first born is autistic so he is in ABA therapy full time we have silent struggles, I had a terrible experience with daycare with my first, and I don’t want to repeat that when the baby is so young. I really thought getting a remote job would be easy, but the market is flooded and I haven’t gotten a single interview in six months.
